The UN envoy to the DR Congo is calling for 'decisive joint military action' against a Ugandan Islamist militia blamed for two massacres inside 48 hours in the eastern DRC.Around 50 people were killed, many of them women and children, in the attacks in and around Beni, a town of half a million people in the North Kivu province. Many were killed with machetes. Local officials suspect the Allied Democratic Forces. It’s committed numerous atrocities since it was chased over the border by Ugandan troops in the 1990s.
